Hello everyone! Bethany & Mary are so excited to invite you to Bethany & Sean’s beautiful brand new home in Minnetonka on November 1st! House concerts are SO much fun ~ music, connection, community. We can't wait to share time, space, and songs with you amongst the pines!

This event will be mainly outdoors, please dress accordingly!
There will be homemade chili, corn bread, snacks, mocktails, and cocktails included with the “ticket charge” (see below). Please plan for a sober ride home 🙂
Please park on Brunsvold Road. There is no parking allowed along Eden Prairie Road (County Road 4).
We will be collecting feminine hygiene products that will be donated to Breaking Free.
About Bethany’s new home
Our home was built between 1926-27. It still retains its original charm and truly called us to it. Originally, it was a 12-acre plot of land that was eventually sold off during the dust bowl years, leaving about 1.5 acres upon which a nursery of spruce, various pines, and other evergreens were planted. They referred to this place as Sampson's Black Forest.
This land space came to us in the spring of 2024, at a time when Bethany (and family) were grieving the loss of her mother, who passed away in January 2024 due to breast cancer. We are still getting to know this beautiful place, learning the creaks and moans of its strong bones and the swaying of the old, wise trees that make it feel like we're in a safe, protected womb. Recently during a summer storm, Sean commented how the trees seem to stand together and help support each other during the turbulent rain and wind. Their roots are strong. This place feels so right for our family- a new volume-with plenty of earth space to grow, heal, share in community, and love.
About Mary:
I've been a performing songwriter since 1998 and am about to release my 9th album in February 2025! I play piano, guitar, and write heart-felt, cathartic, indie rock. In 2020, was even City Pages "Best Songwriter" - unexpected and grateful for that award!
Bethany has so graciously offered this house concert as a support for releasing my next album, "The Wildness of Living & Dying." Putting out an album on your own is a pretty huge endeavor, and quite expensive. Record labels invest $100,000 (at the low end!!) to get new music off the ground, which is something I definitely don't have at this time! And thus, I have launched a crowdfunding campaign through a platform called Kickstarter to raise funds to get this album out into the world.

With this Kickstarter campaign, you can pre-order the new album, buy a t shirt, vinyl, yoga classes (a live one on zoom this Saturday, Oct 5th even!) and other "rewards" as they call them, or just donate at whatever amount feels right if you don’t want a “thing!”
For the house concert, as a "ticket charge," we are asking that you would kindly support Mary’s Kickstarter campaign at any level before October 28th.
Suggested concert ticket scenerio
Typically a house concert would be about a $30 suggested donation to the artist, however, no one will be turned away for lack of funds. IF the Kickstarter is not fully funded (it is all or nothing, eek!), your card will not be charged, and then we will request a suggested donation for the party via cash, check, or venmo.
Let us know once you've contributed (again, you are beloved to Bethany, so please know if you are invited, there is no need to purchase anything!), and once we have your name on the list with your contribution, we will look so so forward to seeing you!
